Ruth Rocklein
rvrocklein@earthlink.net
Ruth has been an RN since 1997, before that she progressed from CNA to LVN. She has worked as a Public Health Nurse and in Home Health. She currently works at the San Gabriel Valley Medical Center in the Telemetry unit. She would like to be a mentor because she has seen many cases where nurses need a little extra help growing as nurses. Also she did not have a mentor in the times when she really needed one, earlier in her career.

Asuncion "Shirley" Wright
bwrgithathome@earthlink.net
Asuncion began her nursing career 13 years ago in the Philippines. She has worked in a variety of different positions and areas in nursing from Charge Nurse in a nursing home, to Supervisor and ADON. She even worked on the Hospital Licensing Team for the Department of Health in the Philippines. Currently Asuncion is working as a Medical Surgical nurse at San Gabriel Valley Medical Center. She has her BSN from Saint Anthony's and speaks English, Tagalog and Cebuano. Her desire to be a mentor comes from her growing up as the oldest child with 4 siblings and the role that she played helping to care for them and guide them. Asuncion is very much looking forward to assisting her fellow nurses succeed.

Danielle Daniels
Nrseenrs1@yahoo.com
Danielle has been in the nursing profession, where she began as a Home Health LVN, for 11 years now. From LVN she progressed to Home Health RN, Critical Care and the Emergency Department, which she currently works in at San Gabriel Valley Medical Center. Danielle has her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is a member of CNA. When Danielle was a student nurse and as a new RN her experience was that other nurses weren't always so excited about working with you or showing you the ropes and she vowed that she would never treat another new nurse that way. She is participating in the mentor program because she believes in the difference a mentor can make and Danielle wants to be a reason that new nurses stick with the profession.

Elsa McFadden
Elsa has been a nurse for 15 years and specializes in Pediatrics / OBY-NSY. She has been at San Gabriel Valley Medical Center for 3 years and works in the OB-Nursery and the intermediate NICU. Prior to San Gabriel she worked as a Pediatrics Nurse at Garfield Medical Center. Elsa has her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and speaks both English and Tagalog. Elsa feels that when she came to the United States from the Philippines she recalls only receiving an orientation from the hospital she was working at and feeling like she was left to figure things out on her own. She feels that it would be nice to have somebody, a mentor, to help you out and share their experiences, both good and bad, with and that would help with the nurses transition at work, and Elsa would like to be one of these mentors.

Lee "Gloria" Yuehying
Lee has 30 years of nursing experience and for 20 of those years she has worked in the United States. Currently a Same Day Surgery Nurse at San Gabriel Valley Medical Center she also has experience on the Surgical-Medical Floor and the Doctor's office clinic. She has graduated from nursing college and speaks 4 languages - which are English, Taiwanese, Mandarin, and Spanish. Lee derives her motivation to mentor from her own experiences as a new RN in the United States and how long it took to adjust to all the differences from one place to the next, so regardless of the 10 years nursing experience Lee found herself in an unfamiliar environment without anyone to help guide her through it. She would like to provide that guidance and help to other new and transitioning RNs.
